When conventional treatment including chemotherapy is unsuccessful, many patients still do not give up and look for other methods of treatment. There are also people who suffer from minor diseases, but try to treat themselves in healthy way and reject antibiotics or any other chemical pills. Both these groups ask for help herbalists.

The fact that many plants contain life-saving products is true. But what about herbalists’ quality? Today, when people are coming back to natural medicine more and more often, some dishonest people try to take advantage of this trend. They claim to be professional herbalists and earn money on advising people what herbal preparations they should make for their ailments. Sometimes, they prepare medicines on their own and sell them to earn additional money. Their tell their patients incredible stories about people who having used their medicines felt better and, subsequently, the doctors could find no further traces of the disease while patients even returned to work.

Giving hope to seriously ill patients, they in fact have no or scarce knowledge concerning either medicine or herbs. If they were asked what elements does a plant contain, they would probably have no idea what to say. Such “herbalists” are especially popular in villages and small towns where the access to doctors is limited and the local people do not trust doctors too much and prefer natural therapy. The most important thing, however, which is connected with this phenomenon is the fact that, although healthy, herbs may also be harmful. If such a “specialist” prepares a medicine using inappropriate herbs or gets confused with the amouof the ingredients, it may cause irreversible damages in one’s organism or even lead to death.

Where to buy herbal medicines?

Everyone should buyonly in chemist’s or herbal shops. The medicines sold there have been pharmalogically checked and approved. What is more, only specialists work there and they have sufficient knowledge to advice you well. If we want to ask for a help a local herbalist, we should first check if he has any diploma or certificate proving his qualifications. Otherwise we expose ourselves to losing our health.
